Transformers War For Cybertron.

A non horror related review, I know but horror has been a little dry lately.

Transformers War Fro Cybertron is an official canon game in the history of Transformers. This means Hasbro has made this a part of G1 history. WFC deals with the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons millions of years before the Great War began on Earth in 1984. The game can be summed up in one word AWSOME. So much detail went into making this a great homage to G1.

In the game you can play as the Autobots or the Decpticons. How you start this game is up to you. Each faction has 6 campaigns apiece and a total of ten levels per campaign. Except the last one. of each is only two levels long. If you want to follow in the order of the story then go thru the Decepticon’s first. It will take you 2-3 hours to beat each chapter. The graphics are good and sometimes they are too good . With the lush and detailed backgrounds its hard sometimes to distinguish characters from whats going on. You can look in any direction and see the planet affected by the War going on around it. The voice acting is top-notch with veteran TF actor Peter Cullen returning once more to play Optimus Prime. ( he’s done it all thru Generation 1 and the Bay Films and games). When characters talk you want to stop fighting and listen to what they have to say. Like when ever Soundwave speaks it the way he spoke 26 years ago. It’s that awesome.

The controls are great but the only problem and this is a minor complaint is on the 360 the left analog stick if u slip up and press it, it will transform you in the middle of battle and can get you killed. But transforming back is no problem the change takes half a second I timed it. WFC is a lot like Gears of war you have to use your head and make sure you don’t go running into battle half cocked. This is a Transformers Game we can finally rejoice over.

Also for those die-hard Transformer fans, there is a book tie in. Exodus this tells a little bit about the relationship between Megatron and Orion Pax before he became Optimus Prime. It has more rich Transformer history than the game does and is worth checking out. There are also toys so far only Optimus and Bumblebee have been released but Megatorn and Soundwave are coming out soon.
