It was great to hear from Jim Henshaw & Adrian Paul. Henshaw provided some good info on the behind the scenes problems that plagued the show. I’m glad he wrote one of my favorite eps.

BTW, the “Cop Killer” rapper he was talking about was Ice-T. He’s been on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit since 2000 in 456(!) episodes.

It was also nice to hear about Paul’s charity work & that he denies the existence of Highlander 2 & Planet Zeist like every sane HL fan does.

I’m still shocked that after 30yrs WOTW was cancelled, nobody else from the show wants to talk about it. Was the experience that bad?

As for the finale, I liked it even though I agree the retconning is just ridiculous. A big extinction plot with the spores, Manna realizes the truth, Malzor gets his, & Debbie gets to be Wesley Crusher & save the day.

WOTW started out with a strong pilot. They established the characters, their skills, & we got to see the classic Martian (Mor-Tax? or Mothren?) War Machines. The new alien designs were creepy & the way they easily took over the terrorists scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. The rest of the series was uneven for both seasons. Maybe it’s an idea that works better as a movie or a mini-series.

In Alyse Wax’s Curious Goods book about Friday the 13th The Series, she talked to Frank Mancuso Jr. & there’s a part where he talks about taking over WOTW’s 2nd season. Basically, he said the show had a bad premise, it was a closed idea, & after 5eps, they thought they were repeating themselves.

WOTW was a part of that late 80’s to mid 90’s syndication (Highlander, Star Trek TNG, Friday the 13th) that I’ll always be nostalgic for. Finally, I loved that Season 2 intro. The music, the camera going through the troubled city, & the narration really set the new tone for that season.
